We continue to work closely with Auckland Transport to improve safety and traffic flow along SH1 in Warkworth.
Better manage demands on SH1 and connecting roads.
Improve traffic flow through the SH1 intersections in Warkworth.
Improve safety.
The improvements also support regional walking, cycling and public transport strategies and are coordinated with Auckland Council and Auckland Transport’s plans for the area.
We are aligning our work with the proposed Western Collector and other local roading projects, and the team delivering the Pūhoi to Warkworth section of the Ara Tūhono – the Pūhoi to Wellsford Road of National Significance. This is essential for delivering a coordinated long-term plan for improving transport connections in Warkworth that caters for the growth and development outlined in Auckland Council’s Auckland Plan (external link)(external link).
Supporting Growth – Delivering Transport Networks
In December 2016 the Boards of Auckland Transport and the NZ Transport Agency approved the overarching 30 year plan for supporting future urban growth areas. The plan was formerly known as the Transport for Future Urban Growth programme (TFUG). For more information on what this means for the transport network in Warkworth, please visit our Supporting Growth – Delivering Transport Networks webpage.
