This report presents the findings of stage 1 of a study to determine how changes in road infrastructure and road use impact on social connectedness and community severance in a host community. This stage 1 report develops a methodology and a case study. The case study proposed in this report did not go ahead.

This report will be of interest to social impact assessors, transport planners and project managers involved in implementation and delivery of linear transportation projects.
