Train the Trainer workshops

The TTM Train the Trainer workshop is a 3-day workshop that focuses on the practical training skills and information required to deliver temporary traffic management (TTM) workshops.

This workshop is necessary for those who wish to be warranted as a TTM Trainer to deliver selected TTM workshops that result in the issuing of warrants.

Prerequisites

To register for the Train the Trainers workshop attendees must:

  • Have credible industry experience, and
  • Hold a current STMS non-practising and practising warrant in at least one category of road (L1, L2-3 NP or L2-3 P STMS warrants are not valid for this prerequisite).

Prior to running any workshops trainers must:

  • Hold (or be enrolled in training for) New Zealand Certificate in Adult and Tertiary Teaching – level 4 or 5. Waka Kotahi will consider cross crediting similar qualifications, and
  • Be registered with Connexis.

Temporary traffic management (TTM) planner workshops

Temporary barrier workshops 

This workshop focuses on the barrier systems used for temporary traffic management. This workshop will be necessary for those who install, design, and/or audit temporary road safety barrier systems. Those responsible for temporary road safety barrier installation, checks, audits, or maintenance should attend.

A practical assessment (and design for designers) of a barrier site must be submitted after attending the workshop.

The workshop is held over two days:

  • Day 1 installers and designers - A mix of theory, system inspection, and site visits, relevant to both.
  • Day 2 designers only - A continuation of the workshop and practical material specific to installation design.
