A high-risk stretch of highway in Christchurch is set to get a $2.5 million upgrade that will help stop people dying or being seriously injured in crashes and make it safer for students to walk and bike to school.
The NZ Transport Agency advises of the following closures for motorway improvements. Closures start at 9pm and finish at 5am, unless otherwise stated. Work delayed by bad weather will be completed at the next available date, prior to Friday, 21 December 2018. Please note this Traffic Bulletin is updated every Friday.
The NZ Transport Agency is pleased to announce that following a second round of public feedback the design and materials of a replacement balustrade for the Ōrākei Basin boardwalk has been selected. The Ōrākei Basin boardwalk forms Section 3 of the Glen Innes to Tamaki Drive Shared Path, a seven kilometre walking and cycling path, connecting people with routes at Pt England and Tamaki Drive.
The NZ Transport Agency has announced that the preferred corridor for the new 24.2 kilometre Ōtaki to north of Levin road is one that runs closest to State Highway 1 and, in the northern section, alongside State Highway 57.
