The NZ Transport Agency is advising motorists that the Manawatū Gorge will reopen at 4pm today following the recovery of a truck that went off the road and into the river on Friday 8 July.
The NZ Transport Agency has closed State Highway 8 between Tekapo and Twizel around 9 am this morning due to ice on the road as temperatures plummeted across the south of the South Island overnight and early this morning.
There are changes ahead for motorists using State Highway 20A in Mangere as work to build a new trench that will eventually become the motorway heads under Kirkbride Road.

Contractors began installing a new gas pipeline and fibre cable under Queenstown’s Shotover River bridge this week, affecting traffic movements from night to early morning – 8.00 pm to 6.30 am weekdays. The work may take until Friday 29 July.
