Community engagement on the proposed design

The 4-week community engagement on the proposed design ended on 14 December 2025. Thank you to everyone who came along to an information session and took the time to share their feedback.

Extensive engagement continues with our mana whenua partners, councils, landowners, and other key stakeholders.

During community engagement, we held 6 community information sessions for people to meet directly with the project team and have their questions answered in person. These sessions were held in Wellington central, Mt Victoria, Hataitai, Kilbirnie, and Te Aro. We welcomed your questions and encouraged your feedback to help our project team understand the potential benefits and impacts of the proposed design from a community perspective.

The engagement materials at the information sessions were the same information available here on our webpage. A copy is available below and here:

The feedback survey included optional questions on each section of the route to share your insights as well as space to provide any other comments for us to consider as part of the next stage of design.

In February 2026, we’ll publish an initial summary of what we heard from the community.
