Severe congestion is expected tomorrow, Monday 12 February, due to the sudden closure of a section of State Highway 29A near Oropi for emergency work, combined with a lane closure on Totara Street for Tauranga City Council road rebuilding work.
Up to 4 nights of additional overnight road closures are required for asphalting works on State Highway 2 at Wharerātā early next week, after this work had to be deferred due to wet weather and equipment failure.
NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi advises of the following closures for motorway improvements. Work delayed by bad weather will be completed at the next available date, prior to Friday, 16 February 2024.
As work continues to build back a stretch of State Highway 1 at Utiku, between Mangaweka and Taihape, round the clock stop/go traffic management will come into effect from tomorrow (Thursday 8 February).
