The Paekākāriki interchange connects motorists to and from Kāpiti with the ‘old SH1’ coastal route – renamed and signed as SH59.

How to use the Paekākāriki interchange

With northbound on and southbound off-ramps, this will be the main interchange for motorists travelling from Kāpiti to Pukerua Bay or Plimmerton.

The southbound off-ramp at Paekākāriki is the last exit on the new motorway for 15kms. Motorists travelling northbound on Transmission Gully (such as from Wellington) to Paekākāriki, should take the northbound off-ramp at Mackays Crossing and then travel south via SH59.
